He is growing so fast - right before my eyes! He had his 2 month check up last week and, as most of you know, he is a big boy! He weighed 13.5 lbs (93%tile) and was 24.25" long (over 97%tile). We are still breastfeeding and it's going well. He's eating about 4 oz now, still 8 times a day. Yes, my life is divided into 2-3 hour time intervals. But, his smiles and coos make it all worth it!
I have two more weeks of maternity leave left, starting back the last week in August. I will be pumping when I return to work and trying to figure out our new schedule. Sanders will be going to a church day care, a Mother's Day Out program with extended hours on the front and back end. I have enough vacation time left this year that I will be working 4 day weeks (some weeks less) through the end of the year.
I am trying to create a list of activities to enjoy while Sanders is awake to keep him engaged and happy. Let me know if you have any ideas! Here is where we stand so far:
- Black and white images
- Tummy time
- Play mat
- Car ride
- Stroller time
- Sky gazing in shady yard
There are a few things I have on his wish list:
I've heard so many good reviews about this - seems everyone's baby loves it. They lie on their back and kick the piano with their feet and there is a mirror over their head. When they can sit up, the piano rotates so they can play it with their hands.
We registered for this but it was never available for purchase. Sanders is just now getting to where he is entertaining himself in his crib. I think he would actually enjoy a mobile at this age and I love this one because it's not just decorative, but actually geared toward his senses with the black and white images.
We got Sanders one of these on our baby moon, Little Fishy, and he actually loves it. He just smiles at the little fishy puppet. I would like to get a couple more of them - there is an entire series.
Are there any interactive toys your baby likes? Or loved to play with? We are open to all ideas!
